Hello everyone! I’m writing to share an exciting new Las Vegas virtual reality experience. Recently, my family and I visited Sin City for a weekend getaway, and we came across Extreme Game Truck’s state-of-the-art VR setup. We couldn’t resist the temptation to try it out!
In this review, I’ll provide you with an honest account of what the Extreme Game Truck has to offer in terms of virtual reality, which family members will enjoy the most, and some pros and cons based on our personal experience. So, sit back and join us as we take you on a virtual journey into the gaming world of Las Vegas!
About Extreme Game Truck Vegas
Extreme Game Truck is a national entertainment company that provides video game trucks for events. These trucks are equipped with big flatscreens, surround sound, comfortable seating, multi-console game libraries, as well as virtual reality gear.

We rented the Las Vegas Extreme Game Truck for 2 hours on a Sunday for a family fun day. For under $400, the truck was set up in the parking lot of our hotel on the strip, which was perfect for us. Our package gave us exclusive access to the truck for our family of four, along with an attendant, Angel, who was there to help us set up the gear, give gaming tips, and ensure a great experience.
Stepping into VR for the First Time
Let me tell you, when we opened those doors and stepped inside, my jaw hit the floor! This was no regular video game truck – this was a real-life VR arcade paradise! Lining the walls were 3 giant 4K screens to spectate the action. Installed throughout were multiple Oculus Quest 2 headsets with touch controllers ready for immersive gameplay.
Angel gave us a quick tour showing off the truck’s sweet offerings. My son John made a beeline right for the VR section, strapping on a headset, eager to dive in. My daughter Jen was more hesitant, so Angel asked what types of VR experiences she was interested in trying. When Jen said rhythm games, he queued up the perfect intro title – Beat Saber!

After a quick tutorial on the controllers from Angel, Jen was slicing and dicing to music like a pro! Watching the screens where gameplay is projected, we could see Jen totally rocking out and swinging the light sabers. The surround sound took the experience to another level, with thumping beats synced to each slash. It was awesome watching my normally shy daughter let loose and have an absolute blast in VR!
Next, it was my turn to suit up for some more intense VR action. I’m a huge fan of first-person shooters, so Angel recommended Superhot VR. The second I jumped into the crystalline world wielding my VR guns, I knew this was next level. Every direction I turned opened new possibilities for attack combos and bullet-time battles. The tracking was spot on, making me feel completely transported inside this strange VR landscape. No wonder Extreme Game Truck is the hottest mobile VR rental in town!
The VR Game Library
After sharing the headset with Patty and my thrill-seeking son John for a few rounds, we were all extremely impressed by the quality of Extreme Game Truck’s VR offerings. The Oculus Quest 2 visuals were stunningly crisp, putting us right inside everything from otherworldly sci-fi planets to mystical medieval dungeons.

The expansive game library catered to every interest with a fantastic variety. For music lovers, Angel showed us the latest Beat Saber song packs with some truly wild cutting patterns. John and I enjoyed bonding while covering each other’s flank in heart-pounding cooperative shooters like After The Fall. And there were plenty of sports games like VR baseball and boxing that made us break a serious sweat!
My favorite part was seeing how creative Angel got helping match VR titles perfectly to each family member’s interests. My imaginative daughter was whisked away to boundless lands full of puzzles and magic. And they just added a new Italian cooking simulator with ingredients and recipes so realistic I swear we could smell pizzas baking! No matter your personality or gaming tastes, the Extreme Game Truck VR lineup surely has something to wow.
The Rest of the Gaming Action
As if nonstop virtual reality wasn’t enough excitement, the Extreme Game Truck was packed with plenty of standard gaming goodness too. Patty laughed her way through chaotic rounds of multiplayer Mario Party on the Switch. And John’s friends enjoyed no-holds-barred battles in the latest shooters on Xbox Series X with cutting-edge graphics.

Angel kept the fun rolling by joining in games when we needed another player. During meals, he cranked the stereo playing a pumping mix of trending tunes. And watching the big moment when John beat the high score in Galaga, Angel and the crew made him feel like a celebrity, offering fist bumps and high fives all around.
With nonstop entertainment options for every age, our visit flew by way too fast! The Extreme Game Truck Vegas edition literally had something for everyone in the family. Standing outside watching people gawk at our truck as we said goodbye, all I could think was “Best…rental…ever!”
Hits and Misses
As expected, our time with the Extreme Game Truck crew was mostly awesome. But no gear rental service is absolutely perfect, so in the name of fair reviewing, I’ll cover a few small misses.
First off, while cutting edge, the Oculus Quest 2 headsets are not quite as crisp as the latest consumer models. My tech geek eyes could detect just slightly more pronounced screen door effects and motion blur than, say, the Valve Index or Project Cambria. Understandable for a mobile entertainment company dealing with wear and tear but notable for pickier gamers.

The other letdown was Beat Saber only having songs through Fall 2022. Similarly, some newer titles like Among Us VR were missing but should come in time. Just expect the hottest bleeding edge VR experiences to take a bit to roll out fleet-wide.
On the flip side, Extreme Game Truck also had some unique retro gems you won’t find elsewhere. I absolutely loved a VR tribute to the classic 90s shooter Doom, transporting me back to my glory days of PC gaming. So there are definitely some rare nostalgic goodies if you explore deeper into their archives.
Minor quibbles aside, the overall VR gaming experience was an easy 5 out of 5 stars. From the minute we stepped inside the pulse-pounding atmosphere to the final fist bump farewell, Extreme Game Truck delivered exponentially more immersive fun than we ever expected!
Conclusion

That concludes this wild review of Extreme Game Truck’s awe-inspiring virtual reality gaming experience here in Las Vegas. While a few nitpicks like dated headset models and uneven new release libraries took a wee bit of polish off, the sheer thrill they provide easily outweighed any small shortcomings. After a weekend immersed battling in fantastical worlds, my family departed with epic memories and sore muscles from endless motion and excitement.
